In fact, URI Eagle Ceramic Knives got their start as "presentos" -- that is, "gifts."  We would make small batches of these gift-knives and hand sharpen them to give to our prospective industrial ceramic parts customers -- this would allow them to see for themselves the advantages of ceramics over metal parts.  Over time we increased the knife production to supply existing customers as well as future ones with knives.  The demand always kept ahead of the supply.

From the early days, just one person managed the gift-knife production efforts and eventually convinced the senior management to let her develop the ceramic knives product line for introduction to the "retail" consumer market.  That was 1999.  In 2001 she became URI Eagle's first-ever General Manager for North America.

At present we have quite a few offerings potential customers would want to preview in the most popular blade sizes.

I know you will want check out our best "Black Diamond Zirconium Carbide Ceramic Blades."  We will be sure to include our Model # 3006 – it is a 6-inch ZrC Blade Chef knife.  This knife has our very best Zirconium Carbide (black) blade that is 6" long.  Our Zirconium Carbide formulation and sintering processes are very precise and yields as high a quality ZrC ceramic material as is possible on the planet Earth today.

Our retail price for this Chef knife with our best 6” blade is now only $88.  Target.com offers it for even less on their web site.  The blade can be compared to any of the best ceramic blades you will ever find to review.  It is that good.

ZrC (Carbide=Black) blades can be several times harder than the ZrO (Oxide=White) blades.  Some black blades are actually ZrO that has had pigment added to look like the more expensive material.  ALL URI Eagle black bladed knives are ZrC so we like to point out for your audience’s protection – if they want the best they should ask to be sure… is this black blade really Zirconium Carbide

URI Eagle knives are made in China.  This explains why the high quality does not come with the high price.  The best raw materials come from Australia and our company buys enough to get the very best price on Australian Zirconia as it travels by China on its way to other markets.  Energy is another big reason for the price advantage.  It takes a lot of energy to make ceramic knives (Zr melting point is about 4,000 Degrees F).

The primary focus of our ceramic production until recently had actually been "industrial components"; for aerospace, nuclear power generators, radioactive material containment vessels, and ultra-precise measurement blocks, rods, mounts used for calibrating high tech manufacturing equipment.  Our state of the art production facilities and expertise with the ceramic materials provides good reason for our confidence in the quality of the materials used to make our knives.

Today the success of our ceramic knife consumer products has resulted in the 100% expansion of the knife production capabilities year over year for the past 3 years...  We hope you will try one of our products to see why URI Eagle Ceramic Knives are the sharpest choice in ceramic knives.
